With 20/20 vision, altered to look at new opportunities, Dance Express presents the once-a-year celebration of original, unique choreography in a new format. For the first time, a film was created of troupe members’ creativity following social distancing guidelines, isolation, and COVID precautions. Thanks to videographers with Mangoes Media, and Andrew Sutcliffe, Dance Express dancers performed their solos in unique outdoor locations, adding a lovely bit of Colorado to the first-time film.
For thirty-one years, since February 25, 1989, Dance Express has offered inclusive dance opportunities for dancers with and without disabilities in the Fort Collins region and northern Colorado. Originally inspired by Theresa Lenahan, sister of Dance Express Artistic Director Mary Elizabeth Lenahan, MS, OT, Dance Express includes dancers with varying abilities and loves collaboration. In addition to the solo piece, “Summer Moves” , edited by Reilly Miller, which premiered at the Lyric on August 21st, a “mix-up” piece inspired by Impulse Dance and Fitness will be aired.
The Board of Dance Express invites you to join us early if you’d like to enjoy an evening outdoors at the Lyric. The concert is less than one hour. Content is good for all ages. Seating is limited to 75 admissions. Bring a lawn chair and an evening wrap if you like. Enjoy Lyric snacks. And relax at this end-of-summer event.
